August Brief: Initiatives & Opportunities for You
For Everyone from High-Net-Worth Professionals to Endowments
THEORETICAL RESEARCH IN QUANTITATIVE FINANCE PARTNERSHIP WITH LSU
Adagio Institute has engaged Louisiana State University (“LSU”) to collaborate on research initiatives in quantitative finance and its application to asset management.
We are currently:
Pursuing joint research to improve the accuracy and predictive quality of risk-adjusted performance measures,
Working to implement an interdisciplinary undergraduate asset management curriculum between mathematics and finance,
In the early stages of establishing a Center for Quantitative Finance to assist pension funds and endowments in replacing uncertainty with best practice processes and techniques to improve their risk-adjusted performance.
FAMILY OFFICE CONSORTIUM ($1.5+ BILLION MANDATE)
In addition to the three strategies we’ve already identified, we are recruiting additional alternative asset managers who are able to generate sufficient risk-adjusted performance to expand the capacity of the family office consortium structure we developed.
If you manage a private credit/ABL/mortgage lending, real estate, or private equity strategy that is robust—if not antifragile—to the market dynamics of the 2008 financial crisis while still performing in the “new normal” times since. We want to talk to you.
OUTSOURCED WEALTH MANAGEMENT TO A PHILOSOPHICALLY ALIGNED RIA
As a boutique investment bank and quant-driven alternative asset management firm, we are not retail-facing, but the educational resources provided through our public charity (including #1 international bestseller The Shadow Banker’s Secrets: Investment Banking for Alternatives) have attracted over 100,000 sophisticated accredited investors and qualified purchasers that want access to our approach and level of performance.
We don’t have any interest in owning or directly managing a retail arm, so we’re in search of a philosophically-aligned RIA to serve the high-net-worth individuals in our ecosystem as our outsourced wealth management desk.
We will not only refer you thousands of new high-net-worth individuals, but in the process, we’ll differentiate and de-commoditize your firm; potentially triple the revenue of your existing client base, and have them thank you for the privilege.
If you:
Have minimum discretionary AUM of $50 million, ideally $500+ million, and be highly motivated to grow.
Have the intellectual capacity and interest to understand the basics of modern risk-adjusted performance measures and financial engineering principles.
Be willing to adopt merit-based portfolio construction principles that may include substantial alternatives allocations with a methodology that more closely resembles sophisticated institutions than traditional retail advisors.
We want to talk to you.
COMPLEMENTARY SERVICE PARTNER RECRUITMENT
The sophisticated nature and extraordinarily high standards of our core business allow us to work with very few people directly. Regardless, the breadth of our public outreach has generated a following of over 200,000 accredited investors, asset managers, and institutions who have various needs we are unable to meet.
If you provide uniquely valuable services to investors, asset managers, or financial institutions and would like to have those services offered alongside ours, we want to talk to you.
CAPITAL INTRODUCTIONS FOR ALTERNATIVE ASSET MANAGERS
When an asset manager has only observed the conventional capital raising experience, the underwriting and financial engineering required to affect capital formation at institutional scale while preserving autonomy can often seem dauntingly complex and potentially demotivating.
That is why we have stripped the process down into two palatable steps…
We measure the risk, return, and liquidity of your strategy.
We introduce you with the risk, return, and liquidity measures of your strategy to the over 100,000 accredited investors and 10,000 financial institutions in our ecosystem.
SMALL & MEDIUM SIZED BUSINESS ADVISORY
Many of the people in our ecosystem own and operate companies that are not in a position for us to serve under our core investment banking and asset management business.
To address this issue, Karl Moore is spearheading an initiative to advise small and medium sized businesses on improving their operations and financial management to maximize their enterprise value and become desirable investment or acquisition targets.
Over Karl's 15+ year career in finance, he has worked across the spectrum of private equity and venture capital markets. He has founded two companies and held senior roles in the launch of two more. In each of these positions, he has proved a top strategic development mind leading and executing M&A and re-capitalization transactions, negotiating deal terms, and getting products and companies to market successfully. In other words, he’s perfectly suited for this initiative.
We’ll be providing more information on this front over the coming weeks.
INSTITUTIONAL-QUALITY INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR HIGH-NET-WORTH PROFESSIONALS
We are planning a webinar for September 5th at 6pm EDT to educate retail investors (aka high-net-worth professionals) on how to invest like the most sophisticated financial institutions and where they can access such opportunities. We’ll provide more details in the coming days.
